Submitting Comments
How can I submit comments?
Every NMRIB screening has a public comment period of up to 21 days. When a screening is initiated, a public notice is issued to an email distribution list consisting of potentially affected communities, Makivik Designated Organizations, government officials and other interested parties. Parties are invited to submit their comments regarding the proposed project and its potential effects to the NMRIRB for consideration. All comments made during an assessment are posted to the NMRIRB online registry and can be viewed by the public. Comments can also be submitted at any time for Active Reviews and Active Monitoring Programs and will be addressed in due course by the NMRIRB.
There are four ways to submit comments to the NMRIRB:
1. Fill in a comment form on the Public Registry (see below for more info)
2. Send an email to info@nmrirb.ca with your comments
3. Call the NMRIRB number: 514-449-3473
4. Fill in a paper comment form at one of the NMRIRBs public meetings and give it to a member of the NMRIRB staff
How to submit a comment on the NMRIRBs Public Registry
Go to the “Login/Register” box at the top of the page and sign in to your account. If you don’t have an account, simply register to set one up. Functionality for the online public registry commenting is expected by the end of March 2022.
