The NMRIRB is currently in a transition period. Since inception, the NMRIRB and the Nunavik Marine Region Planning Commission (NMRPC) have shared an office space in Kuujjuaq and had shared an Executive Director and an Administrative Assistant.
Currently the NMRIRB employs an Executive Director who can be contacted by the public at any time.

Adam was with the Makivik Corporation from 2002 to 2018. From 2002 to 2016, he was employed in the Department of Environment, Wildlife and Research (DEWR) where he worked on the Technical Mapping committee during the NILCA negotiations. In 2016, he was promoted to Director of Economic Development and worked on various matters, including mining and renewable energy. In May 2020, Adam joined the NMRIRB as Executive Director and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the NMRIRB and reporting to the Board of Directors.

Darlene was employed by Makivvik from 2015 to 2024 with varying roles within the Accounting Department, Human Resources and Legal. Her most recent role in the legal department has allowed her to liaise between the department and Nunavik beneficiaries. In her role at the NMRIRB as Community Engagement Advisor she is responsible for engaging with Nunavik Inuit on project proposals referred to the NMRIRB. Darlene’s priorities are to assist community members, affected individuals, groups and organizations to voice concerns and participate in the public consultation process.
